THERE ARE THREE LEAGUES IN THE BASEBALL PROGRAM:
Coed Coach Pitch League:
Each team in this league meets on Tues. & Thurs., beginning May 8, 2012, for six weeks. Boys & Girls (5-7 years of age) will participate in two weeks of practices then four weeks of games. They will be taught the basics of baseball. This league does not keep score and plays 2 or 3 innings per game.
Parents are asked to volunteer to coach as many adults are needed to keep these young children attentive to the game. Please mention your interest in coaching at time of registration.
Participants receive a T-shirt and hat (to keep), a participation medal and a year-end team party.
Boys Minor League:
This league is for boys 8 & 9 years of age and meets on Tuesdays & Thursdays at Auburn Park & Grace School. Practices begin April 9, 2012, and continue for four weeks. Games begin May 8, 2012, and continue through the end of June.
Participants in this league continue to learn the game of baseball and pitch to each other. Players receive a T-shirt and hat (to keep), a participation medal or 1st or 2nd place trophy, and a league picnic at the end of the season. (White pull-on baseball pants are required and should be purchased at time of registration.)
Boys Major League:
This league is for boys 10 - 12 years of age and meets on Mondays & Wednesdays at Auburn Park and Grace Lutheran. Practices begin April 9, 2012, and continue for four weeks. Games begin May 7, 2012, and continue through the end of June, ending with a league tournament.
Tryouts for all 10-year-olds and any new players will be held in March (date will be added as soon as possible). (Please wear gym clothes and bring ball glove.) All candidates with adequate skills will be placed on a Major team. Those candidates who the coaches feel need another year of Boys Minor League will be placed back on their original team in Minors. (All candidates will be placed on a team either in Majors or Minors.)
Participants will receive a jersey and hat (to keep), a participation medal, a end-of-season tournament with 1st & 2nd place trophies, and a year-end picnic. (White pull-on baseball pants are required and should be purchased at time of registration.)
Coaches & umpires are needed = please volunteer your time.
To register in person please come to Williams Township Hall on Feb 26, February 29 or March 7, 2012 at 6-8 p.m. be sure to bring a copy of your child's birth certificate. To register by mail click on the link on the left.
